FYI Donald Uges was (alas: https://www.pw.nl/nieuws/emeritus-hoogleraar-donald-uges-overleden )

an extremely conscientious toxicologist. I came across him before, when the Dutch forensic lab had put the right report in a drawer (because it came in too late from Strassbourg they said) and let nurse Lucia de B be convicted to life on the grounds of their own analysis. Uges came on TV and torpedoed the old forensic methods. I heard the right report came from the drawer by accident when a journalist informed.

I can't say I know much about Uges's career, and he may well be a respected a figure in his field. However, in the Milošević case, he allowed himself to be manipulated--for political reasons. Supposedly a scientist, he was shooting his mouth off about matters he had no knowledge about. It was unbecoming for a scientist.

I see, he went a little too far speculating in front of the camera.

It would be stupid to stop taking high blood pressure meds, and to add another med to neutralize that is even worse. Who could suppose a prison cares so much about a prisoner's health, that they let him free if their therapy fails? Uges here in search of explanations. Milosevic should have known better!

Incorrect. These are all unsubstantiated ICTY claims. The ICTY had every incentive to suggest that Milošević died as a result of self-medication rather than as a result of ICTY negligence. As I wrote, Milošević died two week after the ICTY refused to allow him to go to Russia for heart treatment that had been denied to him at The Hague. The people making the self-medication allegations are all ICTY employees--mostly administrators. There is no reason to believe anything they say.

Here on national Dutch television the commenter says Uges found the Rifampicine (that neutralized the heart medication) in a blood sample. Uges shows the sample, and says he didn't know it was of Milosevic during analysis. Do you think the blood sample was tampered with before analysis, or what?

Absolutely, yes. I never believed the Rifampacin story for one moment.
